THOR-50M crash test dummy – abdomen-pelvis assembly: reliable system technology thanks to well-designed bus technology

To simulate the typical human reaction behavior of the crash test dummy during a collision as naturally as possible, the abdomen is made of deformable material. Here, two KIR-TRACCs measure the deformation of the abdomen surface in the corresponding measurement positions.

Furthermore, the abdomen together with the pelvis forms an important interface between thorax and legs from a metrological point of view. The advantages of the DTI technology come into play here as well. The connection to the bus system and the routing of the bus cabling make mounting and removal of the assemblies child's play.
