Kistler Group: Growth through Innovation

Winterthur, 2 February 2016 – With sales of USD 341 million in 2015, the Kistler Group overcame currency-related challenges at its Swiss site to achieve continued growth and create some 120 new jobs around the world. Kistler, the leading manufacturer of dynamic measuring technology, will again be making targeted invest-ments in R&D during the current year in order to develop innovative products and application-specific services. Growth Set to Continue in 2016 The Kistler Group is well on course, with growth of 10% after currency-related adjust-ments. CEO Rolf Sonderegger anticipates another successful year in 2016: ‘Kistler will continue to grow, thanks to our unique technologies and our strong global positioning. We aim to achieve some of this growth through new products and applications, but a key part will also be played by a targeted expansion of our service offering in tandem with strategic acquisitions.’ Service Offering and Product Development Kistler intends to expand its service offering by introducing application-specific service products on a continuous basis until 2020. Innovative products will be added to the Group's portfolio in 2016, including new applications and the corresponding services: the offering from the new Thermoacoustics Strategic Business Field is just one example. Commenting on the Group's strategic orientation for the coming years, CEO Rolf Sonderegger notes: ‘Together with our customers, we operate at the limits of what is technically feasible – and hand-in-hand, we go one step further. As our customers' development partner, we actually become part of their innovation and improvement process.’ Investments in Innovation Facilities in Germany, Japan, and China have been systematically expanded to accommodate the new service offering. Two new Tech Centers are under construction in Tokyo and at Kistler's new European headquarters in Böblingen-Sindelfingen, Germany. ‘Some 10% of our yearly sales revenue is devoted to research and development. In 2016, the Kistler Group will again be investing in the development of innovative products and services across the globe,’ CEO Rolf Sonderegger points out. ‘Accolades such as the Swiss ASCO Award Gold for the best corporate transformation, the TOP 100 Award that places us among Germany's most innovative medium-sized businesses, and the Handling Award for one of Kistler's product innovations show that we have our finger on the pulse of technological developments, and we are fully aware of requirements in our customers' sectors.’ Download high-resolution pictures:
