28th German Mounting Convention

Societal change through technical innovation. New technologies are rapidly finding their way into everyday use. Their integration in our production processes, however, is often complex and expensive. As a result, we need to ask ourselves: How can we use new technologies profitably?

Individual customer preferences and shorter product life cycles are leading to increasing complexity in production. These increasing demands must be mastered by means of new technologies. Additive manufacturing processes, for instance, enable greater freedom in design, product variation and customization as well as direct and fast implementation of digital CAD data. However, the example of additive manufacturing also shows that innovative and complex but costly technologies continue to fail when used in large-scale industrial environments. Because of long process durations and high process costs, the method has failed to compete with conventional manufacturing techniques. Only a holistic approach along the process chain and a rethink of current production will allow us to add value by using these disruptive technologies.

The 28th German Mounting Convention will provide a forum for discussing innovative mounting technologies, intelligent equipment and efficient process monitoring. The efficient use of innovative joining processes and additive manufacturing opens up new opportunities in mounting. Mobile and collaborative robotics combine the strengths of people and machines in order to ensure greater productivity. Better quality and less waste can be achieved by means of assistance systems for people and sensor networks for machines.

Kistler will be present at the accompanying trade exhibition to inform you about new products and services in the field of mounting technology.
