Winterthur, 7 September 2016 – At this year's K Trade Fair from 19 to 26 October in Düsseldorf, Kistler will be showcasing its latest new products and features with the focus on Industry 4.0. Networking of quality data becomes even easier thanks to the successor version of ComoNeo and the new features added to the ComoDataCenter. Other new products – such as the RTM sensor Type 4001, the pressure sensor Type 6185 (which is insensitive to its installation position) and the multichannel connector Type 1722– open up the way for extra process optimization so production can become even more efficient and cost-effective.
The Industry 4.0 vision has already emerged as a reality in the injection molding sector. The focus is on consistent digitization and networking of machinery and systems – leading to enhanced product quality and increased cost-efficiency. Kistler has staked out a clear objective for this year's K Trade Fair in Düsseldorf: to showcase its latest technological developments centering around networked production − innovations that are sure to capture the interest of representatives from the worlds of industry and business.
ComoNeo 2.0 and ComoDataCenter 3.1: How Networking Delivers Efficiency Gains
Successor versions for Kistler's established ComoNeo and ComoDataCenter system components will be premiered at the K Trade Fair: equipped with these innovations, market players will be in the best possible position to meet the requirements set by digital networking. The Restart Assistant is integrated into ComoNeo V2.0, making it possible for users to transfer established processes from one machine to another with no problems at all. To ensure identical quality reproduction in the new machine, this intelligent tool suggests which parameters need specific changes to ensure produ-ction with the same cavity pressure curve – i.e. with the same quality. This automated analysis with application-specific suggestions results in an extremely simple application on the spot – even for users with no previous subject-specific knowledge about cavity pressure. The ComoDataCenter 3.1, also on show at the K Trade Fair, is enhanced with attractive new features that make it easier to network data and improve the traceability of part quality. For instance, the ComoDataCenter (CDC) is now available for ComoNeo as well. Thanks to this innova-tion, ComoNeo and CoMo Injection are linked via a common database. Another new feature: mold management is now integrated into the CDC. The mold settings can be stored centrally − so for ComoNeo as well as CoMo Injection, they can be transferred to other plants via the CDC. For exi-sting customers, this also ensures compatibility between CoMo Injection and ComoNeo – guaran-teeing that CoMo Injection users can change over gradually to ComoNeo. Networking of process monitoring systems means that all the production parameters can be stored centrally. When molds are changed, this data is easily accessed – so data handling becomes simpler and setup times are shortened.
RTM Sensor, Type 4001 Now for Use with High-Viscosity Resins Too!
Another product innovation linked to the same theme is also being unveiled: Kistler's new Type 4001 RTM sensor, which is suitable for all resins used in RTM processes (i.e. including high-viscosity resins as well). Specifically developed for cavity pressure and temperature measurements in the RTM process, this sensor features two analog outputs as well as a digital output. Rugged design and a long service lifetime make the 4001 ideal for use in industrial environments. This new sensor also allows efficient identification of the characteristic phases that occur during the RTM process. The benefits: targeted optimization of process parameters and cost-efficient production.
Multichannel Connector Type 1722: Simplified Handling
The multichannel connector with the new type number of 1722 will also be premiered at the K Trade Fair. It offers users multiple opportunities for optimization in one and the same product. The new connector allows more robust handling, with simpler connection of single-wire cables to ensure the best possible protection against contamination. Specified up to 120°C, this component is also 100% backwards compatible – so as regards installation and connections, the familiar four- and eight-channel design makes it identical to its predecessor.
Pressure Sensor Type 6185: Insensitive to Installation Position and Easy to Mount – with Enhanced Precision
Last but by no means least of the attractions on show at Kistler's stand is a new sensor that is insensitive to the position in which it is installed. Its type number is 6185. With a frontal diameter of only 2 mm, this sensor is ideal for use with extremely small components: a perfect addition to Kistler's existing portfolio of sensors. The design of the new sensor makes it impossible for mounting tolerances to falsify measurement results. This makes it easier for mold makers to carry out the mounting work, and it also allows greater precision in the injection molding process. The new sensor, available in coated and uncoated versions, can be equipped according to choice with a single wire cable or a conductive spacer sleeve – for a much simpler mounting bore.
