Mounting bases and can be used across a range of different applications. Magnetic bases find use in applications requiring vibration monitoring of large rotating machinery. Note that usage of some magnetic bases can add considerable mass and reduce high-frequency response. Take extreme care when using magnetic mounting bases in order to avoid shock during ferromagnetic surface approach, which could cause irreversible damage to the sensor. Adhesive and stud-mounted bases provide ground isolation for the accelerometer on surfaces less than ideal for direct mounting of the accelerometer. These bases are often used in applications in which multiple locations are to be measured using only one accelerometer.
