The NC joining modules NCFx Pro Type 2164A feature a particularly compact design, which enables a smaller center distance and significantly reduces space requirements. This facilitates integration into existing machine concepts – a clear advantage for plant manufacturers and system integrators. The sensor position directly on the ram enables precise force measurement directly in the joining process, either based on strain gauge or piezoelectric technology. Communication between the servo amplifier and the maXYmos NC process monitoring system (Type 5847C) takes place digitally via EtherCAT. Thanks to the plug & play functionality of maXYmos NC, the joining module is clearly identified, sensor and calibration values are transferred, and the servo amplifier is automatically parameterized. The measured values are transmitted without interference via telemetry and with high precision. The Ethernet interface can be used to transfer quality data via various protocols, as well as to perform visualizations via VNC and data backups. The electromechanical joining modules are used in a wide range of applications, including riveting, clinching, pressing in bearings, pins, and electronic components, flanging, rolling, bonding, crimping, and sintering. They are also used to create clips and snap connections and to implement fastening applications. In addition, the systems can also be used for testing processes such as spring testing.
