Contact sensors are extremely robust and wear-resistant and can be used up to an ambient temperature of 150°C. They are available in various sizes and with different plunger shapes. Contact sensors must always be followed by type S2-B-x-P2 electronics. When a metallic object (test part) is touched, a signal is generated via a "ground loop" which can be processed by the control unit. The mode of operation is static on contact with the reference potential.
