The pressure sensors of family Type 4017A are unique pressure transducers combining compact dimensions with highest accuracy over a wide temperature range. The measuring principle is based on a Wheatstone measuring bridge, which generates an electrical signal proportional to the applied pressure. The bridge consists of piezoresistive resistors embedded in an oil-filled measuring cell. The innovative design ensures long-term stability and high durability in various applications. A specially designed stainless-steel diaphragm provides high sensitivity over the entire pressure range and guarantees excellent media compatibility. The piezoresistive measuring principle has the unique ability to measure not only static pressures, but also makes the sensor suitable for measuring dynamic pressures with high frequency ranges. The sensor is equipped with fully shielded cabling and anti-kink sleeving to provide best protection against damage. The integrated PiezoSmart feature for automatic sensor identification ensures high process reliability during measurements. The parametrization of the measuring chain is done automatically, and the sensor is ready for measurements after connection to the amplifier (plug and play). Digital temperature compensation uses a specific model-based compensation method to achieve highest accuracy. With the help of an individual sensor-based polynomial model, the output pressure signal is corrected according to the sensor temperature without delay. This reduces temperature-induced errors such as zero point and sensitivity changes, without compromising the signal bandwidth. Additionally, the digital temperature compensation provides sensor temperature monitoring. Extension cables of the DS sensor family are suitable for Type 4017A sensors, too. Compatible connections allow to use the sensors with piezoresistive amplifiers of Type 4624A (single channel), Type 4665B (SCP/KiBox) and Type 4667A (KiBox2).
