Purpose of the position

Kistler is looking for an Sales Application Engineer located in the WEST (California, Washington, Nevada, Oregon) region to join our dynamic Sales team!  As a Sales Application Engineer, the individual will be responsible for achieving the sales goals of the Test and Measurement Business Unit. The Sales Application Engineer will visit existing and potential customer sites, provide advice on appropriate applications, work in conjunction with T&M Manufactures Representatives, and sell products and services into those application areas.

Your typical day

  • Meets the defined sales targets and KPI in a defined sales territory.
  • Develop and implement a sales strategy in conjunction with the BU Sales Manager.
  • Provide advice on the appropriate application of each company product.
  • Spend at least 3 days per week in front of customers.
  • Ability to work from a home office and maintain communication with the office and customer base while travelling in the territory.
  • Identifies unique requirements and consults with application engineering on special solutions.
  • Provides product/application technical presentations, price quotations and customer proposals as required.
  • Will perform other duties as assigned.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited four (4) year college plus Ten (10) years’ experience in technical sales. Preferred engineering disciplines are Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
  • Training and experience with highly dynamic and quasi-static measurements and analysis.
  • Experience in the application of transducers, associated electronics and software highly dynamic measurement applications - Preferred include Pressure, Force, Acceleration Torque, Signal Conditioning and DAQ for Test and Measurement applications.
  • Technical knowledge of dynamic and quasi-static transducers and associated electronics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a US Citizen due to customer base requirements.
  • Physical requirements: ability to lift 50 pounds; available to travel 80% of the time either by car (valid license required) or airplane depending on which is more cost efficient.
