Weigh In Motion measures axle loads, gross vehicle weight, speed, and vehicle class at free-flow speeds. As traffic loads and overloaded heavy vehicles are a major contributor to bridge fatigue, WIM data is essential for both assessing and protecting bridge infrastructure.
