Engine Monitoring
Cylinder pressure serves an important key function in the monitoring and control of large engines. Unlike any other parameter, cylinder pressure yields significant information that helps to achieve: • compliance with emission limits • minimization of fuel consumption • optimization of service intervals and • early detection of damage. Operational safety and reliability are of paramount importance, particularly in marine applications.

Tightened Emission Limits Low levels of exhaust pollution of our environment are increasingly demanded. IMO Tier II, which came into global effect in 2009, and the implementation of Tier III planned for 2016 in emission control areas (ECAs), present the engine manufacturer with new challenges.
