Tie Bar Extension

Measurement of tie bar extensions involves mounting the sensors directly in holes drilled in the bar. The sensors then output a signal proportional to the force acting on the bar. Equipping all tie bars with a sensor allows the forces to be measured on the different bars. As well as any lack of parallelism of the platens and the mold itself, overloading of individual tie bars can therefore be detected and consequent failures actively prevented.
