CoMo Injection
Production Monitoring and Scrap Separation CoMo Injection provides a wide variety of functions (such as maxima, integrals and boxes) for process monitoring and scrap separation. For detecting short shots or flashes, for instance, the maximum is monitored or the box function used. Dimensions correlate with the integral of cavity pressure. 48 evaluation objects are available for a maximum of 24 input channels. The device's digital outputs can be used to actuate scrap gates or robots and to remove either the entire shot or individual molded parts from the batch.

Process Analysis Process variations are illustrated by means of a trend graph of the last 100 cycles on the analysis page. This page combines trend displays with the latest graphs, and results from the functions monitoring the latest cycle.

Process Control 2 switching thresholds per channel can be used for real-time control. Examples include the switchover from injection phase to holding pressure, the control of cascades, or, more generally, the opening and closing of shut-off nozzles. In addition, CoMo Injection allows other real-time operations to be carried out during the injection-molding process, all of them based on cavity pressure.

Switchover With CoMo Injection thresholds are used to trigger the switchover to holding pressure. The switchover can be triggered when the pressure threshold is reached in a specific cavity, or more than one cavity can be monitored and the switchover triggered when the threshold is reached in the first of those cavities.

Cascade Control CoMo Injection enables cascade injection molding to be controlled based on cavity pressure. Pressure thresholds and time values can be used to open and close needle valve nozzles. This function thus allows to open and close the gates at the optimum point in time or the optimum melt position irrespective of process fluctuations.

Display and Operation CoMo Injection is a web-based system. Visualization and operation is done either via the display Type 5629A3 or the web browser on a PC equipped with Java. Both these tools are standard components that are available for a wide range of different operating systems. No specialized software needs to be installed.

Network OperationCoMo Injection allows remote access from any computer on a secured corporate LAN using the CoMo's IP address or the CoMo MIS database system. Given an appropriate infrastructure, cross-site access is also possible. Storage of data in the CoMo MIS Typ 2829A... database also relies on the network.
