Setup and Service

When setting up and servicing mold cavity pressure sensors the following three steps are important: insulation testing, sensitivity testing and repair of the single-wire cables.
|
Insulation TestingPressure sensors are maintenance-free, however the insulation should be checked during a mold service. The following instructions must be observed:
• Ensure the connector is dry • When cleaning, cover the mounting bore or keep it clean • Use cleaning spray Type 1003 • Check insulation with the tester Type 5493: Reference value >1013 Ω » Troubleshooting
Sensor SensitivityAn incorrect installation of a sensor affects its sensitivity. The sensitivity of an installed sensor must therefore be tested, if possible before setting up the mold on the machine.
• Test the sensitivity of the sensor with the set Type 5993A...

Repair of Single-Wire CablesRepair slight damage to the cable with repair kit Type 1207. Solder broken cables and cover joint with Teflon sheath and heat-shrink tubing of the repair kit Type 1207.
