Benefits at a Glance

Kistler sensors and systems can be used to cut costs in a variety of phases, either by speeding up, by optimizing or by automating processes. The systems are based on the most important process parameter, namely cavity pressure. They are therefore extremely objective, independent, and the decision between good/bad part is made at the earliest possible moment: immediately when the part is ejected from the mold. Cavity pressure represents a window looking into the injection mold.

Mold trial and optimization Optimization is significantly speeded up by relying on avity pressure as the most objective process parameter. Cavity pressure provides detailed process information and enables rapid optimization in accordance with specific rules. The exposure of defects in the mold makes it possible to reduce the number of mold trial iterations.

Start-up Starting the process on the basis of a reference curve of mold cavity pressure considerably shortens the time required to arrive at the first product of satisfactory quality. When production commences, the process is optimized in line with the reference curve that has been specified on a one-off basis, and the requisite quality is thus achieved in the shortest time possible.

|
Production – Zero-defect production Defective parts are automatically detected by Kistler systems and scrap gates or robots are activated. This identification of defective parts means that the safety margins with filling pressure are no longer required, and the service life of molds is considerably extended. A lot of process variations can be eliminated by means of open- and closed-loop process control based on mold cavity pressure.

Quality Assurance With Kistler systems, quality assurance is integrated the production process and automated. Storing the most important process parameters enables production and quality reports to be generated automatically and even individual parts to be traced.
