Fundamentals
|
RoaDyn® multicomponent measuring hubs are used specifically for instrumenting tire test stands.
In addition to rolling resistance measurement, typical areas of application include flat spot investigations, high speed uniformity (HSU) tests, noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) studies, run-out, durability of tires and tire/rim combinations, and quality monitoring on production lines. The load classes of the RoaDyn® multicomponent measuring hubs range from light to heavy commercial and special vehicles.

The sensor system of the hubs is secured on the test stand as a rule so it does not rotate. The shaft on which the tire and rim combinations are mounted has bearings allowing rotation.
Typical application sectors include rolling resistance tests aimed at minimizing energy consumption to current standards (ISO 28580, SAE J1269 and ETRTO 117), high speed uniformity and flat spot tests for optimizing the running characteristics of tires, durability testing of tires and rims, noise, vibration and acoustics (NVA) assessments, etc.

RoaDyn® Wheel
Force Transducers
|
Special solutions with rotating RoaDyn® multicomponent wheel force transducers for tire test stands and mobile test cars can be realized with adapters. A special universal adapter with a variety of hole configurations allows easy mounting of standard rims.
