Screw Driving

Screw connection is a key method of assembly. Its most important use is to apply defined preloads. Since this is generally achieved indirectly via the torque, its torque controlled form is the most widespread. Kistler offers both torque sensors for fitting to screwdrivers and preloaded, calibrated reaction torque sensors and dynamometers for monitoring screwdrivers and measuring torques in general.

Piezoelectric torque sensors are based on ring-shaped, tangentially aligned, shear-sensitive quartz elements that output a charge signal proportional to the torque. To allow transfer of the torque to the quartz washers the sensor has to be preloaded in the structure to develop friction.

Reaction torque sensor

Reaction torque sensors
Calibrated reaction torque sensors ready for mounting with flange, central bore for shaft and measuring ranges from ±1 to ±1000 N·m. Particularly suitable for mounting in non-rotating shafts.

Torque sensor

Torque sensors
Sensors with measuring ranges of ±5 to ±200 N·m for fitting to screwdrivers and preloading structures.

Reaction Torque Sensor

Reaction torque sensors
Calibrated reaction torque sensors ready for mounting with flange, central bore for shaft and measuring ranges from ±1 to ±1000 N·m. Particularly suitable for mounting in non-rotating shafts.

Reaction torque sensors and torque dynamometers are suitable both for monitoring screwdrivers and torque wrenches, and for general torque measurement in production and product testing.
