A typical system for monitoring the quality of a technical component such as a connector for the electrical industry, for example, consists of one mold cavity pressure sensor (such as the 1 mm Type 6183A… sensor) in each cavity. A cable connects these sensors to the CoMo Injection process monitoring system. This system uses the measured cavity pressure curves to calculate key evaluation functions such as the maximum or the integral, and uses predefined tolerance limits to monitor these figures. If these tolerance limits are violated, then the system sends a signal to the scrap gate or the robot that separates out non-conforming parts from the production batch. At the same time, for archiving purposes, the system sends the measured pressure curves and other information across a network to a central network server where the CoMo MIS database is located. The Curve Viewer of the MIS system can be used to display and analyze stored data, and the statistics module can be used for documentation purposes.
