The minimal dimensions of this sensor make it ideal for compact engines offering extremely limited mounting room. In addition to conventional mounting in the cylinder block, the sensor can even be integrated into engine components such as gas injection valves. With the new PiezoStar® crystal the sensor, despite its miniaturization, is very sensitive and can be used for knock control as well as monitoring thermodynamic parameters.
